reservation systems with inventories of rooms they expect not to sell. For a
hotel, it is more profitable for them to sell a room at a discount, than not to
sell it at all.
Room prices
The closer to the expiry night, sometimes the cheaper a room becomes for last
minute hotel reservations. This is
not always the case. Regular room prices and offered discounted room rates are
shown on search results pages.

called standby rooms, it is not uncommon for these rooms to be sold out soon
